An excerpt from the Gazetteer of Massachusetts (MA) by the Rev. Elias Nason, describing the town as it was then. Dana is one of the four towns that were abandoned and flooded by the creation of the Quabbin Reservoir. They are often referred to as the Lost Towns of the Quabbin.
